How does Rocket Pool work?

Rocket Pool operates as a liquid staking infrastructure protocol built directly on the Ethereum blockchain network. Because it does not have its own independent consensus mechanism, the protocol relies entirely on the parent chain to secure all network activity. This means that Ethereum validators are responsible for processing and confirming all actions related to the RPL token.

The network relies on a distributed group of participants who engage in decentralized node operation and staking. Node operators must provide a specific amount of RPL tokens as collateral to participate in the protocol infrastructure. These participants help maintain the decentralized nature of the liquid staking process while interacting with the broader Ethereum ecosystem.

When users interact with the protocol, their transactions are broadcast to the underlying Ethereum network for processing. The parent blockchain handles the final settlement of all token transfers and smart contract executions involving the RPL asset.
